George Hogg

Since moving to London in 2005, George Hogg has quickly established himself as an original voice on the UK jazz scene. Whilst at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Gerard Presencer, George was selected to represent the UK at major international jazz conferences in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.

Although he cites Freddie Hubbard, Dave Douglas and Tom Harrell as major influences, Hogg’s sound is very much his own. His dynamic quartet features some of the most in-demand young jazz musicians in the UK, and they have already had many years of performing together.

“…a trumpet star of the future, a thoughtful improviser with a cool and elegant sound, but with plenty of fire in reserve…”
